These fungi wall vases are carved from large blocks of Sapele. The top surface is sanded smooth and finished with 3 coats of hardwax oil. The bottom consists of a textured surface is painted with acrylics and then lacquered.
Each hangs by a keyhole slot in the back and comes with a 50 mL test tube as well as a screw for hanging.
The dimensions / features vary as each one is carved with the understanding that although nature has a guiding template for growth in the natural world not all specimens are alike.
Each piece is roughly 3 inches tall, protrudes 6.5-7 inches from the wall and then are around 7-8 inches long.

These Kumiko Light Boxes are designed to serve as decorative lamps that can also function as a shelf and a planter. A small square opening is created on the top of the box that houses a metal insert. A 3.5” potted plant can then be placed inside the metal insert turning your box light into a planter. Each mitered box is constructed with solid hardwood which allow the grain to continually flow around the corners. The kumiko panels are made primarily from basswood, but in some instances and especially in the ombre’ style, can feature a variety of hardwoods.
The light in each box comes from a strip of COB LED lights and can be controlled from a touch switch located on the side by an inlayed plug of contrasting wood species.
Each light hangs from two keyhole slots and comes with a template for locating and drilling the holes as well as the screws needed for mounting. Exception: Narrow box lights hang by one keyhole slot and come with one screw.
